HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver

Job Requirement

W Burton & Sons is a family run timber and agricultural merchants located in Cheadle, Staffordshire (ST10 4QZ). We are currently seeking a Class 2 Driver to fill a full-time position that has recently opened within our team. Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8am – 5.30pm and one in 4 Saturdays 8am – 1pm.

Job Role

Our driving roles include delivering and collecting goods throughout Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Cheshire and further afield. However our driving roles do not include nights out and no late evenings, providing you with a great work/life balance.

W Burton & Sons run a well-kept fleet of vehicles, consisting of 2 HGV’s and 2 smaller delivery vehicles. One of our HGV’s is equipped with a HIAB, therefore a HIAB licence is advantageous but not essential; We want our drivers to be multi-skilled and we will provide the necessary training for the successful candidate.

We often complete multiple loads a day, so the successful candidate will we required to drive a mixture of all 4 vehicles and will not be based solely in one vehicle. As the face of the company, W Burton & Sons are looking for someone with a professional, reliable and can-do attitude to work due to changing demands.

W Burton & Sons offers delivery to both trade and residential addresses, therefore some of our customers provide offloading facilities however some do not. In cases where there are no offloading facilities a level of manual handling will be involved, so all applicants must be show a good work ethic and fit and well.

Although this position requires the successful candidate to work well independently, W Burton & Sons operates a small friendly team with a can-do attitude the ability to work as a team is essential.

Key Attributes, Experience & Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have the following experience and qualifications:

· HGV Class 2 licence (essential)

· Up to date digital Tacho Graph card (essential)

· Valid CPC (essential)

· HIAB licence

· Ability to effectively manage their own time

· Good communication skills

· Knowledge of the local area (Staffordshire/Derbyshire)

Salary: From £29,000.00 per year
